A prominent online marketing firm headquartered in Malta, Catena Media, has recently acquired the UK-based horse racing platform, gg.co.uk. The purchase, with an initial price tag of $2.79 million, represents a crucial element in Catena’s strategy to broaden its presence in emerging sectors and geographic regions. gg.co.uk is recognized for its robust search engine optimization (SEO) and provides a wide array of offerings, making it a prized possession.
The transaction will be settled in an immediate cash payment, with the ultimate sum subject to potential adjustments following gg.co.uk’s complete integration into Catena, anticipated by June 2018. Presently, gg.co.uk generates approximately $209,000 in quarterly revenue. This acquisition bolsters Catena’s footprint in the UK, succeeding their prior purchase of BettingPro.com, another UK-domiciled website.
Henrik Persson Ekdahl, Chief Executive Officer of Catena Media, emphasized the strategic significance of this acquisition, affirming that Catena is dedicated to proactive growth and venturing into novel digital services. He contends that gg.co.uk, while modest in size, possesses substantial growth prospects due to its established brand identity and strategic market placement. Catena Media, he added, is the optimal collaborator to realize that potential.
This signifies Catena’s fifth acquisition in the current year alone. In 2017, the company finalized ten acquisitions, a tactic that substantially contributed to their remarkable 69% revenue surge. This latest maneuver underscores Catena’s aspiration to solidify its standing as a dominant entity within the online marketing sector.
