The Ascot Racecourse and the Tote have partnered for five years to enhance the UK horse racing wagering landscape. Their primary objective is to broaden the international appeal of British racing, particularly through the World Pool project.
Commencing in January 2024, this collaboration connects Ascot with the Tote to enlarge the horse racing betting market within the UK. It demonstrates their mutual dedication to elevating Ascot’s races onto the global stage.
All wagers placed at Ascot, whether in person through “Bet with Ascot,” digitally via the Tote, or through alternative betting channels, will contribute to a larger pool for UK horse racing. This is especially noteworthy considering the recent increase in betting on Ascot races, both domestically and from abroad.
Ascot has been a vital component of the World Pool since its Royal Ascot introduction in 2019. This international merging of bets from Tote operators across 28 nations has been mutually beneficial, increasing revenue for the sport and generating more consistent odds and payouts for racing enthusiasts. With 17 World Pool days on the British and Irish racing schedule in 2023, this partnership is well-situated to leverage the escalating global interest in British racing.
The Ascot Racecourse anticipates joint efforts with fellow UK racing venues and the Tote wagering platform. Additionally, they aim to solidify their relationship with the Hong Kong Jockey Club. The objective? To significantly elevate the international horse racing landscape throughout the year 2024.
